Ο λόγος της Άννας Σωτήρη, υπεύθυνης Νεολαίας του Βορειο-Ηπειρωτικού Συλλόγου Βοστώνης

Στην εκδήλωση του Συλλόγου "Βόρειος ¨Ηπειρος" 

My name is Anna Sotiri and I wanted to welcome everyone to our Northern Epirotic Society's dance. On behalf of the board members I want to thank everyone who is attending and those who have sent their Blessings but could not attend.

 To make this short and sweet we all can say by the teachings of life that one can succumb any obstacle if they set their mind to it and by belief anything is possible. Being a member of the Northern Epirotic Society and being that of the young generation in order to make a difference everyone that cares about Northern Epiros must be united, and have fire in their eyes and actions and passion in their souls if we want to have our deserved human rights and preserve our beautiful history inherited by our great grand fathers who fought and risked their lives for Northern Epiros.

There were only two cities in Greece that did not allow the Turkish Ottoman Empire to step foot, Heimarra and Manh. Because the people of Heimarra were of honorable men and women and they would not allow it, we must be these people of Heimarra that will not allow cowards and backstabbers and the Albanian government to take charge of our home, steal our land with fake documents and grab the heart of Epiros, and destroy our religion, our rights as human beings, our culture and our Greek language. That is the reason for this dance tonight, not only to have fun and dance, but to preserve and set forth goals to protect the human rights that as a Greek minority we deserve. And that must be done united and proud. 

To end this off, for those who do not understand the history of Northern Epiros and still ignorantly claim it is Albanian, there are numerous of Greeks still occupying in Northern Epiros that would be more than happy to share the history and will open your eyes and make you knowledgeable.

Lastly, I will finish this off with a quote from Agios Paisios (St. Paisios)-

"Οι Βορειοηπειρώτες να μη φοβούνται, επειδή κάποια μέρα θα ελευθερωθούν από κάποια παλικάρια! Οι ελευθερωτές δεν θα καταλαβαίνουν από πολιτικές και θα μπουν μέσα για να βοηθήσουν. Οι πολιτικοί, από τη μια θα χαρούν κι αυτοί, από την άλλη όμως… είναι δεσμευμένοι και δεν θα μπορούν να ενεργήσουν. Οι άλλες χώρες θα το δεχτούν και θα πουν ότι αφού έγινε, τώρα δεν μπορεί να αλλάξει. Γι' αυτό δεν πρέπει να φοβούνται οι Βορειοηπειρώτες, επειδή λειτουργούν και οι πνευματικοί νόμοι. Ο πόνος για τη Βόρειο Ήπειρο είναι μεγάλος, επειδή ήμασταν μια οικογένεια και μας χώρισαν. Είναι σαν να λες κάποια από τα παιδιά σου να χωριστούν από τα άλλα". Γεροντας Παισιος
